David Marsden is an Authorised Representative of Avery Gibson Financial Services Pty Ltd and has been issued Authorised Representative number 361919 by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). Avery Gibson Financial Services Pty Ltd is a Corporate Authorised Representative of Plan 2 Pty Ltd, Licensee Number 237874.  David is authorised to provide financial advice and deal in financial products through Avery Gibson Financial Services Pty Ltd.
 
Education and Qualifications
David is a member of the Financial Planning Association and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He holds a Masters Degree in Personal Financial Planning from the University of Southern Queensland, the FPA Diploma of Financial Planning and also a Graduate Diploma of Management from Deakin University.
 
David is also a Justice of the Peace [JP(Qual.)] for the State of Queensland.
 
Additionally, he holds professional engineering qualifications and is a Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia and a Chartered Professional Engineer (Retired).
 
Experience
David entered the financial planning profession in 1994 following a successful Electrical Engineering career in the Royal Australian Navy. He has more than 17 years experience in wealth management and providing professional financial advice, including over 9 years operating and managing an Australian Financial Services Licence for a large Brisbane Chartered Accounting firm.
 
David helps clients to make smart choices about their money in harmony with their own values and for reasons that are important to them. He works with them to develop comprehensive strategy and investment solutions to maximise their wealth opportunities. He specialises in providing strategic wealth management advice, planning and implementation, including: 

  • Specialised planning for high net worth individuals and families
  • Expatriate financial planning
  • Tax Planning strategies and tax effective structures
  • Risk management through personal insurance
  • Superannuation – employer and personal, as well as establishment, administration and investment management of self-managed superannuation funds
  • Redundancy/Retirement planning
  • Estate Planning.

Away from the office, David is actively involved in the community as a Member and Past President of the Lions Club of Moggill-Mt Crosby.

He has also recently completed an 11 year term as a Member of the Board of Directors of Karuna Hospice Services, a charitable palliative care organisation that provides in-home care to the terminally ill and support for their families.

David maintains an active interest in Naval matters and holds the rank of Commander in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve.
